The Birmingham United Soccer Association held its’ 2008 Red Diamond Vulcan Cup Boys’ Tournament in Birmingham, AL. The Red Diamond Vulcan Cup is the Southeast's premier tournament for the month of March. The 2008 Boys’ Vulcan Cup was host to 316 teams from 14 states. Among the participants were 34 State Champions, 27 State Finalists and 37 State Semi-Finalists.

The Capital Area Soccer League held its CASL Shootout Soccer
Tournament November 10, 11th 2007 in Raleigh N.C. This tournament is
the premier soccer tournament in the Mid Atlantic area and is known for
it’s tough competition and outstanding teams. Only the best teams in
the county are invited and accepted to play in this elite tournament. The
IMPACT 97 Girls Nike Mummey team was accepted into the CASL Shootout
after a tough win in the premier tournament, Atlanta Cup. The U11 Girls were divided into four divisions. The IMPACT 97
Girls team played in the top Gold division.

Morgan G. Makes the All-South Atlantic Team Tuesday, November 06, 2007 (264 reads)

Morgan Gruenenfelder is one of four Carson-Newman women's soccer players named to the 2007 All-South Atlantic Conference team.
Midfielder
Zarmena Kasparites and defender
Julie Nelson were selected to the first team, while forward
Nikki Brannen and
Gruenenfelder were selected to the second team. Nelson scored four goals and helped the Lady Eagles hold opponents to just 19 goals.
Kasparites led C-N with 11 assists on the season and contributed three goals.
Brannen led the Lady Eagles with 11 goals while
Gruenenfelder, who graduated from Sweetwater High last May, scored 10 goals in her rookie season.

Jake Russell Makes All Tournament Team Tuesday, September 18, 2007 (1 reads)
RICHMOND split two games at the UR Nike Challenge winning the first match 1-0 in overtime versus Binghamton (9/14) but falling 2-1 to Campbell (9/15). The Spiders evened their mark at 3-3 on the year. Freshman forward Jake Russell (Knoxville, Tenn.) earned the Rookie of the Week honors after scoring his first collegiate goal, the game-winner, with one second left in the first overtime versus Binghamton. Russell added an assist in the game-tying goal in the loss to Campbell and has scored a point in the last three contests for Richmond.
Jake also make the all tournament team.

Registration for the Lil' Impact Recreational Academy starts on Feb. 1 and goes through Feb. 25. The program begins March 1.
The L'il Impact is open to all children 5 to 8 years old, on a first-come, first-served basis. All players are trained by Impact USA professional coaches, with an emphasis on individual skills training and development.

The Impact just finished another very successful season of Division 1 soccer. We had seven teams attend the D1 state tournament this year, 5 teams made it to the semi-finals and 3 made it to the finals with all three winning their final. Winning 3 more D1 titles this year (u14 girls, u18 girls, and u17 boys) brings our total to 13 state titles playing in the highest division.
