Impact ’86 Alums Close College Careers With December 18, 2007
Six members of Impact ’86 (Tennessee Division I Boys’ State Championsin 2000, 2002, 2003& 2004) received significant post-season honors following their respective2007college soccer seasons.
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named Jared Britcher, Evan Giordano, Michael Houbre, Adam Montgomery and Igor Slisko to NSCAA/adidas®All-Region teams. Jared and Adam, both seniors at the University of Memphis, were named to the NSCAA/adidas®NCAA DivisionI All-Midwest Region Team. Evan, a senior at Maryville College, was named for the second timeto the NSCAA/adidas®NCAA Division III All-South Region Team. Michael, a senior, and Igor, a redshirt junior, were named to theNSCAA/adidas® NAIA All Region XII Teamat King College.
In addition, Jared was named to the prestigious CoSIDA/ESPN -The Magazine’s Academic All-AmericanTeamfor the second time in his college career. Jaredwas further honored by being named toConference USA’sAll-ConferenceTeamand Conference USA’s All-Conference Academic Team for the second year. Jared led the Tigers in scoring in 2007.
Evan led the Maryville College Scots in scoring for the second time in three years. Hewas also named to the CoSIDA/ESPN -The Magazine’s Academic All-American District IV Team. At the conference level hewas amed for the third consecutive year to both the Great South Athletic Conference’s All-Conference Team and the Great South Athletic Conference’s Academic All- Conference Team. Evan was also named the Great South Athletic Conference’s“Tournament Most Valuable Player”after scoring four goals in the conference championship match for the victorious Scots. In addition to his All-Regions election, Michael was also named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference’s All-Conference Team and, for the second consecutive year, to the Appalachian Athletic Conference’s Academic All-Conference Team.
Adam was also named to Conference USA’s All-Conference Team. Adam started every match for the Tigers during 2007. Igor Sliskowas also named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference’s All-Conference Team and he was awarded the Appalachian Athletic Conference’s “Golden Boot” Award as the conference’s leading goal scorer.
